Grass cuttings

The Parish Council meeting were again disappointed to learn that grass cuttings are being dumped into the ditches and on the verges opposite houses along sections of Quainton Road despite having written to all home owners.

The Parish Council has been working hard with Bucks County Council and landowners over the past few years to solve the flooding problems we have suffered around the village. Ditches have been dug out and cleared to allow proper drainage. It is therefore vital that the ditches are kept clear of unwanted waste.

If people continue to put cuttings in the ditch all the hard work clearing the various ditches will have been for nothing. The Parish Council is therefore kindly requesting that anyone tipping grass cuttings in any ditches or on the grass verges STOP doing so immediately. We would remind you that any remedial works to solve any such issues ultimately are paid for by you through the Parish Council precept (part of your community charge).

Plus please be advised that the District Council considers this sort of thing as fly tipping and can take strong action against offending residents including issuing fines.

North Marston is a beautiful place and we have been working hard to make improvements around the village so if you have tipped grass cuttings in our ditches and on our verges PLEASE stop doing so.

If you see anyone dumping things incorrectly please call the AVDC Fly Tipping hotline or contact any of the Parish Councillors or clerk so that we can take appropriate action.
