Local charity seeks trustees

Home-Start Aylesbury supports ordinary families throughout Aylesbury Vale who are struggling to cope with difficult situations including post-natal depression, illness, multiple birth, disability, autism or family breakdown. Trained volunteers, who are parents themselves, visit families in their own homes offering emotional and practical support until the family is back on track.

The charity already has a strong core board of trustees who work well together as a team and is now looking for new talented individuals to join the board. As a trustee you will be responsible for ensuring that the charity continues to deliver the service in accordance with the responsibilities and liabilities of quality, policy, governance and strategy.

You will need to be able to attend regular trustee meetings approximately once every two months and also be able to devote the necessary time outside those meetings to support the charity in delivering its vision. Training on trustee responsibilities can be made available.

In addition to these general skills we are looking for individuals who have particular experience of fund-raising, PR, promotion and marketing who can help us prepare proposals for further funding requests and help represent us with the media. We are looking for individuals who believe that family life should be supported, giving children the best possible start in life and who are creative, committed and who want to give something back to their local community.
