New Cycling Initiative in the Aylesbury Area

Want to get cycling this summer? Why not join a Sky Ride in Aylesbury Vale. AVDC and Bucks Sport have teamed up with British Cycling and Sky to launch the Sky Ride campaign in Aylesbury Vale.

The aim is to get one million more people into bike riding by 2013. It's the largest ever campaign to get people riding bikes for fun.

A series of Local Sky Rides have been organised over the next few months through our beautiful countryside. These free rides are at four different levels from Ride Easy to Ride Strong. This means that there is something to suit all ages and abilities for both children and adults. Rides are led by friendly British Cycling trained ride leaders.

Local rides

There are two routes local to North Marston:

  • The Claydon Meander is a very scenic 12-mile loop starting at The Shop North Marston at 10am on Sunday 21st August, and at 10am on Sunday 16th October.
  • The Bucks Railway Ride is 17 miles long starting at the Bucks Railway Centre at 10am on Sunday 18th September, at 10am on Sunday 2nd October, and at 10am on Sunday 23rd October. Cyclists on this ride can get half price admission to the Railway Centre afterwards.

Both routes stop for refreshments at Claydon House.
