We are delighted to be able to announce the appointment of the Reverend Jim Gorringe to the House for Duty post in North Marston, Granborough and Oving.

Jim, as many of you will already know, is a Methodist minister who currently serves in the Aylesbury Vale Circuit and lives in Stewkley. He is already well known in North Marston due to our ecumenical partnership with the Methodist Church and has been leading services regularly at St Mary's for over two years.

The Ecumenical Partnership

Since April 2006, North Marston's Methodist and Anglican Churches have been in Local Ecumenical Partnership at St Mary's.

This involves using the one building, St. Mary's for services and other activities and selling the Methodist building. Thus we will gain access to funds which we hope may be turned to good effect to improve the facilities for both the Anglican building and the village.

There are ongoing discussions about the best way to improve these facilities; the Methodist building will remain in use for some activities until the plans are finally agreed.

The Ecumenical Church Council is Janet Gowin, Janice Gurney, David Heffer, Clare Hurrell, Tricia McSweeney, Sue Mordue, David Perrett and Carrie Smythe.
