Wii winter olympics
The good news ...
The Wii night at the Village Hall on 9th January was great fun, and Nikki McSweeney passes on her thanks to the Webb family for setting up all the TV's and Wii stations.
There was lots of laughter, and a friendly but competitive spirit.
The bad news ...
Unfortunately, Nikki was given some bad news in the week following the Wii night. The bobsleigh driver for Nikki's Junior World Championships, has qualified for the Olympics, and has decided now to just concentrate on that and drop the Junior World Championships.
As a result it has now been decided not to send a team to the Junior World Championships in St Moritz as it is too late to find another driver.
Although pleased for the driver, Nikki was quite down about this, as she had been working really hard and improved her strength and fitness levels significantly, and now it seems all for nothing. Nikki will continue to train for the bobsleigh team however, and will just await her next opportunity.
