Quiz night at The Pilgrim

There were celebrations in The Pilgrim in the evening of Tuesday 4th October 2011 when three teams shared a £200 jackpot win in the pub quiz.
Quizmaster John Spargo was very surprised at what happened: "We've had no-one win the Jackpot for a few months and then, out of the blue, three teams win at the same time. The Jackpot questions were no easier this week so what happened was completely unexpected."
Quizzes at the Pilgrim are held most Tuesday evenings (except when John, a Parish Councillor, attends once-monthly Council meetings). In the past year Pilgrim's quizzes have built up a regular following of teams from North Marston, Aylesbury and the surrounding villages and have raised substantial funds for a local childrens' hospice.
The Pilgrim promotes a special Quizzers Meal (two courses for £10) so people can enjoy great food as well as an evening's entertainment.
"I try to vary the quiz rounds to suit all ages and interests," said John "most weeks there is a picture round and music rounds ... something for everyone. We always have plenty of laughs."
Pete and Anne who run The Pilgrim said "It was great to see the jackpot won this week, everyone enjoys John's very popular quiz (we will be needing a bigger pub soon with it being so popular) which is always helped by his lovely glamorous assistant Fran".
