Nicky and Patrick say hello to North Marston
Jacob, Patrick, Harriet and Nicky Boulton at home
We moved to North Marston just over three years ago, so although we're not newcomers in the traditional sense of the word, the village still feels a very new place to us!
We both work – Patrick as an engineer for British Airways at Heathrow, and Nicky more locally for The Open University in Milton Keynes. We have two children, Harriet who is four and Jacob nearly two.
With busy jobs and our children attending a nursery outside of the village it's not always easy to find time to meet other villagers. Our weekends are usually spent taking the children to swimming lessons and birthday parties so sometimes it feels like we're hardly here.
We hope that Harriet will start at one of the local schools in the autumn, so we're looking forward to meeting her new friends and parents then.
For us, the introduction of the village website is a great development and enables us to keep up with what's going on locally. We were particularly encouraged to hear that the village pub is due to re-open soon, so we look forward to meeting some of you there! And Patrick being true Yorkshire will be the first to the bar – honest!

I'm glad the website is doing its job. Work got in my way too when I first moved to the village, so it's good that you can introduce yourself here to a few more people. And I'm also looking forward to that pint at the Pilgrim – Alan.
