In my 7th Year as chairman, and still no one has come forward to take over, I would like to invite anyone who would like to please do contact us.
There are two spare spaces on the Parish council, I would welcome with open arms anyone who would like to join us, especially anyone who would be willing to step into the shoes of the Chairman.
The village continues to flourish with new wild flower gardens and some of our pot holes filled in, while others arrive. Hopefully this year will see a major improvement in the high street. Fingers crossed.
We do have a new speed sign and the grass and hedges have been continued to be maintained by our current contractor, who will continue in 2024.
We have so many active groups in the village and which all help to entertain and support people in our community.
The council increased the precept slightly by 5%. The precept will again be spent mostly on the general upkeep of the village including grass cutting, street lighting, and light maintenance/replacement. The costs of all these services are rising sharply and the 5% increase was required to cover these rising costs.
I would like to thank everyone who has given up their time, some who are here this evening, to help support others in the village or to help with village projects.
We are so lucky to have amazing sporting and recreational facilities, a shop, two meeting halls, a vibrant church, and a thriving village community. Thank you on behalf of the whole parish council.
Thank you for your hard work and commitment.

Chair, North Marston Parish Council
