Ultimately, Buckinghamshire Council is the decision making authority for planning applications in North Marston. However, as the Parish Council, our role is to represent local views and provide written feedback to inform the process.
As a parish council, we are classed as statutory consultees in the planning process and must be informed of all planning applications, and any amendments to those applications, within the parish. Our remit is to provide local knowledge and raise areas of concern.
Our written feedback for planning applications is submitted and considered in the same way as any other member of the public. However, comments submitted by the Parish Council must be agreed during a public meeting.
As a member of the public, you are invited to attend these meeting to comment, speak in support of or object to any application during the ‘Open Forum’ segment of the meeting, but not during the council’s deliberations later unless you are asked to provide clarity on details of the application by the meeting's chair.
Comments agreed in the council meeting are submitted in writing by the Parish Clerk to the Buckinghamshire Council planning team.
