The Remembrance Service and Parade is an important occasion in village life. It takes place each November on Remebrance Sunday and residents and visitors alike are always welcome to attend.
The service offers an opportunity to reflect on loved ones who were lost in conflict, as well as specifically remembering those from North Marston who were called to war and never returned. We also have the opporunity to reflect on the lost lives of six men (three from the UK and three from New Zealand) who tragically lost their lives in 1945 when their plane crased near Quainton Road, shortly after it had departed from Westcott Airfield.
The parade typically starts at St Mary's Church, with a parade (including various organisations in uniform) following the short route through the village to the village hall.
A short service takes place at the village hall, which includes the laying of wreaths by various organisations who have a connection to the village. This is followed by refreshments together.
More details will be published on the news pages annually.
